NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Champagne Bureau, USA has released its annual list of the “Top 10 Bars and Restaurants across the United States for Enjoying Champagne.“ A high prestige, considering how particular the French are about their Champagne. This year, Brennan’s, a famed dining institution part of the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group, also received the highest honor by Wine Spectator – the Grand Award – for its exemplary wine and spirits program.
Brennan’s celebrates champagne in true New Orleans fashion – festively. The “Bubbles at Brennan’s” Happy Hour is offered Thursday to Monday with ceremonial Champagne sabering led by the “Master of Sabrage” and General Manager of Brennan’s, Christian Pendleton [pictured above] – who is certified to teach guests how to saber a bottle of Champagne. For those wanting to sit and savor, a selection of fine Champagne is curated by Braithe Tidwell, Corporate Beverage Director of Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group, and Sam Bortungo, the newly appointed Wine Director of Brennan’s, along with the rest of their bubbly team. Among selections – like a Krug Grande Cuvée 170ème Édition Champagne or a Drappier Brut Rosé Champagne – there are endless pairings for a l’heure de l’apéro.
The Champagne Bureau, USA is the official U.S. representative of the Comité Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne, a trade association that represents the grape growers and houses of Champagne, France. The Bureau exists to educate and inform those about the unique wines of Champagne, protecting the name. For its second year, the Bureau honored 10 US restaurants for demonstrating what truly makes Champagne special.
Brennan’s continues to sparkle in day-to-day operations and embrace the “guest experience” like no other through innovative Creole cuisine and the finest of spirits. Save the date – Friday, October 27 – to celebrate Champagne Day with specials during Bubbles at Brennan’s.
